Congratulations to Temple and Killeen in being ranked in the top spot in the Milken Institutes 2010 “Best-Performing Cities” index. The area moved up from second place last year. Some key elements for the area included Fort Hood base consolidations, the area’s location along the I-35 trade corridor with Mexico, a more stable housing market compared to other regions and continued growth experienced locally by Temple College and Texas A&M University.
