Applied Natural Gas Fuels Locates at RailPort Business Park in Midlothian

RailPort Business Park in Midlothian will be the site of a natural gas liquefier plant, which will produce more than 600,000 gallons of natural gas each day to be shipped throughout the United States.

California-based Applied Natural Gas Fuels Inc. has bought a tract at RailPort Business Park from Dallas-based Texas IndustriesInc. (NYSE: TXI), which will become the site of a natural gas liquefier plant.

The 31 acres at RailPort Business Park in Midlothian can house five natural gas liquefiers, each of which could produce 86,000 gallons of liquified natural gas per day, or a total of more than 600,000 gallons of liquified natural gas per day, company officials said. Applied Natural Gas Fuels is the second largest liquified natural gas producer and marketer in the U.S.

Globitech Expands Sherman Facility

Sherman Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) has announced Globitech will expand its Sherman facility, investing $9.6 million and creating ten new jobs.  SEDCO is providing an incentive grant of $480,000 to assist the company in the project.

“We are excited about expanding the Globitech operations in Sherman, Texas.“, said Mark England, president of Globitech Inc. and vice president of parent company GlobalWafers Co., Ltd.  “Sherman continues to be a competitive location as we competes in a global marketplace.  We especially thank Sherman Economic Development Corporation for the continued support.”

“We thank Globitech for the new investment in the Sherman facility”, said Chris Pendergrass, chairman of Sherman Economic Development Corporation.  “This is a testament to Sherman as a great place for manufacturing technologically advanced products.  We are proud for SEDCO to partner with Globitech on their growth plan.”

Globitech is located on FM 1417 in Progress Park.  They produce silicon epitaxial products and services to the worldwide semiconductor industry. Globitech will invest $9.6 million in new equipment and hire ten new staff member to its current base of 174 employees.  SEDCO agreed to an incentive grant of $480,000 to be paid in two installments over the next sixteen months as the company meets its goals.

Direct Connect Establishes New Call Center in Sherman

Sherman Economic Development Corporation announced Direct Connect will establish a new call center operation in Sherman, Texas creating 150 new jobs.  SEDCO is providing an incentive grant of $300,000 to assist the company in the project.

“We are pleased to bring Direct Connect to Sherman, Texas,”  said Tim Lund, chief executive officer of Direct Connect.  “Our innovative products and services will set us apart in the industry and we know Sherman can help us reach our goals.  The experienced workforce and the support from Sherman Economic Development Corporation were critical to our decision to choose Sherman.”

“Direct Connect builds on the growing business process operation (BPO) industry in the Sherman-Denison area,” said Chris Pendergrass, chairman of Sherman Economic Development Corporation.  “SEDCO is pleased to support Direct Connect and look forward to the jobs coming to our community.”The company will be located in existing back office processing space at Jamestown Plaza.  Direct Connect provides sales and support functions for retailers that utilize credit and debit card equipment and processes.  Direct Connect will employ 150 people to be hired during the next twelve months.  SEDCO agreed to an incentive grant of $300,000 to be paid in two installments as the company meets hiring goals.
