IKO Groundbreaking Hosted by Hillsboro EDC

IKO GroundbreakingOfficials with the Canadian-based shingle manufacturer, IKO Industries, were on hand recently in Hillsboro to take part in a groundbreaking ceremony for the company’s new flagship facility.

IKO Industries North American President David Koschitzky told the over 70 people on hand that the manufacturing plant will be a milestone for the company.

“This project will be the final piece in creating IKO’s truly national manufacturing network in the United States. The plant that we construct on this site will be a flagship facility for our operations and will play an important role in serving businesses and homeowners throughout the Southwestern United States,” the president said.

It will create 50 jobs and construct a 250,000-square-foot facility that will invest $80 million into the community, which is the largest industrial investment in the history of the city and Hill County.

IKO Industries has grown to over 25 plants in North America and Europe since being founded in 1951. It is a world-wide leader in the roofing, waterproofing and insulation industry for residential and commercial markets.

Barclays Bank Selects McKinney for Technology Center

London-based Barclays Bank has selected McKinney as the new site for one of the company’s innovative technology centers. Barclays, a Global Fortune 500 company, is an international financial service provider engaged in personal banking, credit cards, corporate and investment banking and wealth management.

Barclays will occupy over 40,000 sf and is expected to generate 500 jobs.

Texas Ranks #12 As A Nation

Texas now ranks No. 12 as a nation.  Texas moved up from No. 13, based on the new 2013 GDP data pulled from two data sources (International Monetary Fund and U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis).
