ALUF PLASTICS INC OPENS MANUFACTURING PLANT IN SULPHUR SPRINGS

ALUF Plastics Inc. recently opened a film and polyethylene bag manufacturing plant in Sulphur Springs. Aluf makes a wide range of low and high density polyethylene consumer and commercial bags for trash, recycling and industrial packaging.   The Orangeburg, New York based company expects to employ more than forty at this site.

TEXAS RANKED #1 FOR U.S. EXPORTS

According to the U.S. Census Bureau ,Texas is a leader in the global marketplace. In 2014,  for the thirteenth year in a row, Texas was ranked as the number one state by export revenues.  Texas exports for 2014 totaled almost $289.02 billion, up from over $279.5 billion in 2014.  The state’s exports outperformed overall U.S. exports, which only grew by 2.4 percent to $1.62 trillion in 2014 from $1.58 trillion in 2013.

TEXAS WINS 2014 GOVERNOR’S CUP

Governor Greg Abbott accepted the 2014 Governor’s Cup, an award given annually by Site Selection Magazine to recognize the top performing state for capital investment attraction in a season that lasts all year. 2014 was the third year in a row and sixth year since 2004 that Texas has been honored with the award.

“I’m honored to accept Site Selection Governor’s Cup on behalf of the people of Texas,” Governor Abbott said. “It’s no surprise Texas is again named the top state for the most new and expanded corporate facilities – this is the third year in a row Texas ranked #1 and the sixth time in the last 11 years.
